The Inspiration
Astronomer Carl Sagan had a knack for expressing extremely complex ideas and feelings in just a few simple, beautiful words. This print is inspired by a phrase he often used: "on the shores of the cosmic ocean". In those words, he captures the humility humans experience in the face of the enormity of the universe and points to how much we have yet to learn.
